M77 Carbine, SN147648
This carbine was produced at Springfield in 1880, and has had the stock replaced sometime after 1882, since the center
rod hole is deeper than the outer ones. The stock is a field replacement since it is void of a cartouche and firing proof.
Only the stock instector's mark is easily seen. The bore is very shiny with one or two small specks. The stock has not been sanded
and is excellent.
The metal is in very good shape, but most of the bluing has worn off. You can see the color case pattern on the top of the block.
Exposure to strong sunlight has faded the colors and left only the pattern
