45-70 Rifle Fencing Bayonets

These three fencing bayonets are in very good condition and very rare.
TOP FENCING BAYONET:
Sold This is another rare fencing bayonet. It mounts to the shortened and modified barrel with a stud added to the barrel that is at 90 degrees to the normal line of sight. The barrel is available for the bayonet. The length of the blade is 16 1/2 inches from tip to the front of the socket. The stampings on the leather are: WTG and RHS. The bayonet is in perfect condition and the leather shows very minor use.
MIDDLE FENCING BAYONET:
Sold This is a rare fencing bayonet. It mounts to the shortened and modified barrel with a stud added to the barrel that is at 90 degrees to the normal line of sight. The barrel is available for the bayonet. The length of the blade is 17 3/4 inches from tip to the front of the socket. The stampings on the leather are: R.I.A./1905/HEK. The bayonet is in perfect condition but there is some leather flaking on the outside of the tip. The leather shows very minor use.
BOTTOM FENCING BAYONET:
This is the most commonly found fencing bayonet. It mounts to the shortened barrel with two screws. For this bayonet, no stud is used to retain it, only the mounting screws. The length of the blade is 16 1/4 inches from tip to the front mounting plate. The bayonet is in excellent condition. The stampings on the leather are: G.E.P. on one side and R.I.A./1917/TM and H.B. The bayonet is in unissued condition.

The barrel that is available is in new condition both in and out. Springfield mounted a bayonet lug at 90 degrees as to where the front sight would be located. As usual, the workmanship is perfect. if the barrel is wanted, add $175 to the total cost.
