1873 Rifle, SN103112
1873 Rifle, SN103112
This Model 1873 rifle is cartouched ESA/1878 and has the typical P firing proof and the oval cartouche.
It has all the characteristics of an M73 rifle produced in 1878. For example,
the rear sight is a
Type I M77 rifle sight, it has the early M73 cleaning rod, and large U bands. The barrel blue is excellent
and the bore is also excellent, shiny with
good rifling and no pitting or dark spots. The block and tang have some color case and the color case on the
underside of the block is very strong. The stock has some compression dents, but otherwise has the original
finish and has not been sanded. This is a very good example of an 1878 produced rifle, very collectible!!
